A Note from the Founders...

We are a mother-daughter team, and we came up with the idea of Close & Clever’s clothes for cuddling and learning when we noticed how much Elizabeth’s son, Kieran, loved the bright patterns on Marsha’s shirts. He had a great time when his Nana pointed out and described the pictures on her clothes. Also, when Kieran was a baby, he couldn’t stand being face down on a mat, and a pediatrician-mom friend suggested that Elizabeth try tummy time with Kieran lying on his mommy instead of a mat. Elizabeth and her husband, Darren, who is a pediatrician and internal medicine physician, loved the idea and used it with Kieran.

Marsha has a Ph.D. in Education and extensive experience in early childhood development, and Elizabeth is a corporate lawyer. We put these ideas and our professional backgrounds together & developed The Tummy Time Top which gives your baby bright, mentally stimulating designs to look at while cuddling and getting important tummy time exercise. The Tummy Time Shirt Saver shows our bright, baby-tested designs on a soft, smooth, absorbent burp cloth.
